On Friday 8 March, Iain Stewart MP visited Newton Leys Primary School to meet with the Headteacher Emma Donoghue.
It was International Women's Day and the FA had organised #LetGirlsPlay ‘Biggest Ever Football Session' which Newton Leys Primary School were participating.
Iain was able to observe the multiple sessions taking place on the school's 4G astro-turf and discuss the benefits of encouraging pupils to live active and healthy lifestyles.
Following that, Iain and Emma has the opportunity to discuss some issues being experience at Newton Leys Primary School:
There are significant safety concerns on the roads around the schools, and the roads being unadopted by Milton Keynes City Council means enforcement action can't be taken. Iain has written to the Council to enquire about a timeline for these roads to be adopted.
The smell from Bletchley Landfill Site is still prevalent in the area, with parents complaining to teachers. Iain is hoping to visit the site soon to discuss the work being undertaken to tackle the smell being omitted from the site.
