On Friday 7 July, Iain Stewart MP met with Smith Jenkins Ltd and Moto Hospitality in Wolverton Mill.
It was an opportunity for Iain to discuss ways to improve access to and quality of facilities for HGV drivers in Milton Keynes as he is aware of the issues that lorry drivers face, particularly near Magna Park.
Iain was delighted to learn about Moto Hospitality's plans to create more HGV parking spaces at Toddington services, around 10 miles away from Milton Keynes on the M1, giving drivers access to good quality facilities like showers, toilets and security.
Following this meeting, Iain will be further exploring ways in which HGV parking and driver facilities can be created here in Milton Keynes to allow drivers to stay in the city and avoiding parking dangerously on lay-bys and residential areas.
