On Friday 27th May, Iain Stewart MP visited Primark at the MK1 Shopping Park.
On his visit, Iain met with Jake and Annette to learn more about the store and Primark’s operations as ell as meet some of the Primark team on his tour of the shop.
Iain heard about Primark’s Sustainable Cotton Programme which is hoping to have 100% of the cotton that is in their clothes to be recycled, organic or from their Sustainable Cotton Programme by 2027, they are currently at 33%.
This is alongside their aims to increase the number of clothes in their stores made from recycled or sustainably sourced materials from 39% of their products to 100% of their products by 2030.
Also, Iain found out that all Primark stores have a clothes bin where you can put clothes that you no longer want or use so that they can be reused, with the clothes in the MK1 Primark donation bin going to UNICEF.
