Protecting Our Green Spaces

Across Buckingham & Bletchley, we have an abundance of beautiful green spaces that we all rely on for a range of purposes – leisure, exercise, flood defences and farming. However, these green spaces are at risk to overdevelopment and not being properly supported. That is why I will fight to ensure we do everything possible to protect our green spaces, ensuring they are accessible to all and properly maintained. Also, I will continue to support our local farming community so they are able to flourish and be successful.

So far, I have been able to achieve:

  • Campaigned with local resident groups, Parish Councils and Town Councils to fight over-expansion
  • Welcomed the Government’s Back British Farming announcement to support our local farming community
  • Supported local residents in local flood risk neighbourhoods have access to protection

As your MP, I want to go further by:

  • Continuing to scrutinise and oppose developments that are not right for our local community
  • Supporting farmers and organisations who look after our green spaces and do so much for our local community and economy
  • Explore the possibility of an Alan Turing Memorial Garden
