Investing In Our Local Healthcare

All residents across Buckingham & Bletchley deserve to have timely access to local, good quality healthcare services. However, the population in our area is growing as more people move into our neighbourhoods to benefit from the prosperity and opportunities available. That is why we must ensure our local healthcare services have the funding and infrastructure to meet the demand of both now and the future.

So far, I have been able to achieve:

  • A new Pathway Unit, the Maple Centre, at Milton Keyne University Hospital providing same day emergency care for patients with a new 26 bed ward, thanks to £10m of Conservative Government funding
  • £3m for A&E upgrades at Milton Keyne University Hospital to open a 22-bed ward ahead of Winter 2023
  • More Doctors and Nurses in our healthcare service
  • Improved clinical standards at Milton Keynes University Hospital due to a partnership with the University of Buckingham
  • Successful rollout of the Pharmacy First programme
  • 2 Community Diagnostic Centres & Mobile Breast Screening Unit
  • Working with Buckingham Councillors on a new GP Surgery

As your MP, I want to go further by:

  • Seeing the completion of the Radiotherapy Unit at MKUH
  • Opening the Women’s and Children’s Hospital
  • Increasing the number of GPs (and appointments) for local residents
