Milton Keynes South MP Iain Stewart welcomed a group of students to the House Of Commons to give them a taste of life in Parliament.
The MK MPs receive regular requests from young people asking to find out more about the day-to-day roles of a Member of Parliament and set up a Parliamentary Taster Day to ensure young people can be engaged in politics.
As part of the day Ben and Iain took part in Q&As about their roles as MPs, their teams explained more about life working for an MP and the students were given a tour of the Houses of Parliament, including a visit to the House Of Commons itself.
Iain Stewart, the MP for Milton Keynes South, said:
“It was brilliant to welcome a group of youngsters from across Milton Keynes who had an interest in politics, wanted to learn about the life of a Member of Parliament and were keen to hear about the different roles in an MP’s office.
“Having not been able to welcome the group to the Houses of Parliament for the taster day since before the coronavirus pandemic, I was pleased to welcome them onto the Parliamentary estate to get the whole experience.
“I look forward to welcoming the next group to the MK MP’s Parliamentary Taster Day and I would encourage anyone who is interested in attending to register their interest with my office.”
