Investing in Our Local Healthcare System

The population of Milton Keynes is growing as more people move to the area to benefit from the prosperity and the opportunities this city has available. However, you deserve access to good healthcare at a time that is convenient to you! That is why I am continuously working with Government Ministers and Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) to secure extra investment in our local NHS.

So far, I welcome the following progress on this Our Plan point:

  • A new Pathway Unit, the Maple Centre, at MKUH which is now operational and provides same day emergency care for patients with a new 26 bed ward
  • £3m for A&E upgrades to open a 22-bed ward ahead of Winter 2023
  • Funding secured for a new Women's & Children's Hospital with foundation work underway

I would like to go to further by:

  • Seeing the completion of the Radiotherapy Unit at MKUH
  • Increasing the number of Doctors and Nurses in Milton Keynes
  • Having more GPs and Primary Care staff in Milton Keynes South
