What Can I do to help?

Thank you for your interest in helping others whilst we tackle the coronavirus outbreak.

I have been in contact with a range of local organisations and charities to see if they are in need of any additional volunteers and help. The following replied back and provided information on how you can help.

Age UK:

Age UK are looking for volunteer drivers, local co-ordinators, shoppers, telephone befrienders and logistics volunteers.  It is important that any volunteers that have direct contact with older people are DBS checked so we are asking for copies of DBS certificates as part of our volunteer recruitment. Volunteers can call us on 01908 550700

Milton Keynes University Hospital:

MKUH require particular information from individuals in order to process a volunteer request. To see a list of roles available and the list of the information we need from them, click on the following link: https://www.mkuh.nhs.uk/working-at-mkuh/volunteering

You do not need any clinical/medical background as volunteers do not provide clinical patient care in their roles.

Community Action MK:

Community Action MK are directing local efforts in response to Covid-19. They are in communication with a range of organisations, volunteers and groups that are helping the vulnerable, elderly and self-isolating individuals. Their website address is https://communityactionmk.org/volunteer-during-the-coronavirus-pandemic/

Anyone wishing to volunteer can register their interest with them and they will match volunteers with roles at the local groups and organisations who are delivering Covid-19 related support. This can be done here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScPZhFZHDSCblzSki0nMdmJhatMjNwIgzZn4voCo0tCs8q4hg/viewform

Your NHS Needs You:

You can register to be a volunteer for the NHS and fulfil a range of roles to help relieve the pressure on the NHS. Iain Stewart MP has signed up to be a volunteer and you can too at:

Social Media and Local Responses:

MKFM have compiled a list of each estate/area of Milton Keynes that has a local responses to COVID-19. This news article can be found at:
