Residents Survey

My Plan to secure a better future for Milton Keynes.

Thank you for coming to fill out the residents survey.

While much of the political debate at the moment is about Brexit, I continue to work hard on a wide range of issues that affect our day to day lives. I am writing to you to find out which issues affecting our community you would like me to prioritise. I have listed below some of these issues. I would like to know your opinion on these, plus anything else you would like me to address.

Your views really will help me secure a better future for Milton Keynes South.

Making Housing More Affordable and Tackling Homelessness.

Being able to buy your own home is a dream of many. I am working on ways to help make that a reality. I have also been helping to reduce the numbers of rough sleepers in Milton Keynes.

Cost of Commuting.

The cost of commuting plus rising parking charges has become a growing worry among the young professional population. I am campaigning for off-peak season tickets under the new West Midlands rail franchisee, London North-western, and to make sure the new franchisee for the West Coast Partnership offers free Wi-Fi. In additional to that securing the delivery of East West Rail.

NHS Investment.

I will continue to fi ght to ensure Milton Keynes’ health services get the funding they need. Our rapid population growth means it’s all the more important we use our resources as effectively as possible. I will continue to campaign for improvements to MK University Hospital building on a number of recent successes.

Global MK.

I host regular events for MK businesses, including an export fair in March, and I will continue to promote apprenticeships and support MK University. With exports reaching record highs, we are building a Global Britain - and I will work hard to ensure Milton Keynes plays a key role.

“I before E”. Infrastructure before Expansion.

Any housing development in and around MK should be accompanied by appropriate expansion of public services and infrastructure; and be part of a strategically thought through Oxford-MK-Cambridge long-term strategy. In my official role as the Government champion for the development of this region, I will ensure this is the case.
