Regenerating Bletchley Town Centre

Bletchley Town Centre, like all our Towns and Villages, is an important hub for local residents to go shopping, use the post office or access an appointment. Over the last few years, we have seen our local high streets face challenges, but I am keen to support our local economy and our local jobs That is why, I am committed to doing all I can to support our local high streets and town centres to ensure they remain as our local hubs and continue to provide local job opportunities.

So far, I have achieved the following:

  • Secured £24m of Government funding to regenerate and rejuvenate Bletchley Town Centre through the Conservatives’ Towns Fund
  • Delivered some of the Towns Fund projects – built new Redways and increased broadband connectivity
  • Initiated discussions about the possibility of having an Easter Entrance at Bletchley Train Station with East West Rail, London North-Western Railways and Network Rail

As your MP, I would like to go further by:

  • Continue fighting on behalf of local residents and business owners for Milton Keynes City Council to tackle dangerous parking along Queensway in Bletchley Town Centre
  • Oppose Labour-ran Milton Keynes City Council’s plans to reduce Saxon Street to a single carriageway and move the Bus Station to the opposite side of the road to prevent congestion and increased road traffic as well as saving significant taxpayers money for better projects
  • Explore ways to support other local towns and villages like Buckingham and Winslow
