The John Lewis Partnership (JLP) have launched a new initiative this Christmas which will help vulnerable families living in the Milton Keynes area.
Specifically, JLP will be bringing some magic to families who've had a tough time this Christmas by providing them with everything they need to have a truly unforgettable Christmas.
From decorations to gifts and special food JLP will help them celebrate together in a way that’s unique to them. To do this, John Lewis Partnership are working with around 120 local Home-Start networks across the country to offer support to those families identified as most vulnerable this Christmas.
Coordinated by local John Lewis and Waitrose Partners who act as community liaison ambassadors, JLP are working with each local family to compile their Christmas wish lists and provide them with what they need to be able to celebrate Christmas in a way that might not previously have been possible.
Iain Stewart, MP for Milton Keynes South , who recently visited John Lewis Milton Keynes to learn more about the initiative and help wrap presents for local families, said:
“I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to wrap some presents at John Lewis with the help of Home-Start volunteers.
“This great initiative helps to share the joy of Christmas with everyone regardless of situation, and I was pleased to have contributed.”
In addition to this initiative, the John Lewis Partnership is donating £1m to help create more magical moments for families across the country - working with charity partners FareShare and Home-Start.
Partners in local stores will use the funding to support families in need in little ways to make their Christmas more magical, from donating a tree, to hosting a Christmas meal in-store and donating gifts to local children and charitable networks.
