3. Milton Keynes Sailing Club

On Saturday the 14th of March, I went along to Milton Keynes Sailing Club (MKSC) at Caldecotte Lake to find out more about the sport and the club.

The MKSC has been around for 42 years and currently have approximately 120 members.

The majority of memberships are family ones, which goes hand-in-hand with the club's philosophy of encouraging sailing and having fun.

Also, MKSC works closely with Milton Keynes Sailability.

It was great to hear from their Chairman, Tim, as he explained how they provide people with disabilities and learning difficulties the opportunity to learn to sail.

There was plenty of wind on the lake, meaning the conditions were ideal for me to try out sailing, and I enjoyed the experience.

I am grateful for Brian and Sarah ensuring my safety as well as keeping me dry whilst I was out on the lake.

If you are interested in learning to sail, if would like to volunteer or if you are willing to donate any money to running of the club, go to their website at https://mksc.org.uk/
