2. Transport and Cost of Commuting

Milton Keynes is located in a great position for all modes of transport, with good transport links to many of the major UK cities.

Within Milton Keynes, there is access to Milton Keynes Central and Bletchley Train Stations, the MK Coachway, and the M1.

This hub for easy and quick movement in and out of Milton Keynes means it is home for commuters to London, Birmingham and other cities.

However, the cost of commuting plus rising parking charges has become a growing worry among the young professional population.

We are campaigning for off-peak season tickets under the new West Midlands rail franchisee, London North-Western, and to make sure the new franchisee for the West Coast Partnership offers free Wi-Fi.

In addition to that, I am securing the delivery of the East - West Rail.

Plus, the costs of travel affect people who do not commute.

Therefore, the new range of railcards will enable cheaper train travel for anyone between the ages of 16 to 30, allowing people to travel for business and leisure to do so with a discount.

My Plan

  • 1. Building Affordable Housing and Tackling Homelessness
  • 2. Transport and Cost of Commuting
  • 3. NHS Investment
  • 4. Global MK
  • 5. "I before E" - Infrastructure before Expansion
  • 6. More Funding for Police and Schools
